Overview

The Hadi Surabaya project is a neo-classical residential cluster that draws its character from the timeless language of European classicism, thoughtfully reinterpreted for the Indonesian tropical context. The design philosophy is clear from the very first glance: achieve grandeur through restraint. Rather than overwhelming the facade with excessive ornament, every classical detail from the pronounced cornices to the modillioned eaves is placed with deliberate precision to frame the quiet elegance that defines this villa cluster.

The color palette is built around a pure, luminous white that dominates the entire facade, creating an immediate sense of cleanliness and calm that stands out in the Surabaya streetscape. This pristine white is grounded and warmed by panels of natural sandstone, a golden-beige batu alam that clads the carport column and the garage wing, providing richness and texture without disrupting the overall serenity of the composition. Dark charcoal steel frames on the windows and doors cut sharply against the white, delivering a contrast that feels at once modern and resolutely classical.

At the center of the facade sits the project's most captivating element: a tall steel-grid window in the crittall tradition, its dark frame forming a powerful counterpoint against the white walls and flooding the interior with natural light. This window does more than illuminate; it serves as the visual anchor of the entire design, drawing the eye inward and hinting at the warmth of the illuminated interior beyond. Paired with smaller transom windows above the carport entrance, the fenestration pattern gives the house a curated rhythm that feels at once stately and contemporary.

The multi-hip roof, clad in layered dark grey tiles, rises in stepped volumes above the single-story massing, creating a silhouette that simultaneously references the European villa tradition and the Javanese tiered atap. This layering of roof planes adds depth and shadow to what could otherwise become a flat horizontal form, lending the home a quiet stature that far exceeds its single-storey footprint. At dusk, warm integrated landscape uplighting illuminates the garden beds from below, framing the architecture in soft amber light and transforming the entire streetfront into a luminous composition.

The Hadi Surabaya cluster ultimately delivers an experience of cultivated luxury: a home that feels prestigious and welcoming in equal measure, where generous proportions, natural materials, and considered lighting combine to create a sense of arrival that lingers long after the front door has closed behind you.
